Resident Evil Re:Verse Set to Conclude Operations as Capcom Announces Shutdown Timeline

As the gaming landscape continues to evolve, certain titles inevitably reach their end. The multiplayer aspect of the renowned Resident Evil Village, created to honor the series' 25th anniversary, is now nearing its conclusion. Despite its rocky launch, Resident Evil Re:Verse has remained accessible since its introduction in 2022, but an important announcement has been made regarding its upcoming closure.

According to a statement from Capcom, the game has officially entered its final stage and will begin to be removed from digital storefronts. By June 29, access to the game will come to an end, along with the discontinuation of available content.

The initial phase of this shutdown is set to commence on March 3. On this date, the game will be taken off online platforms, and all purchasable downloadable content will also be eliminated. Players will then have nearly four months left to engage with the game before operations cease on June 29. Following this date, Resident Evil Re:Verse will not only be unplayable, but it will also no longer be bundled with Resident Evil Village purchases.

In their comments regarding this decision, Capcom acknowledged that the game was created to commemorate the series' 25th anniversary, and their appreciation for the player base's support was evident. They expressed gratitude for the enthusiasm shown toward Resident Evil Re:Verse and offered their apologies for this unfortunate update.

While the closure may not come as a shock to everyone, player engagement has been noticeably low. Current data suggests that, at the time of this announcement, only a handful of players are active in the game.
