Jul-25-2024
BioWare has announced the cast for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, featuring four voice actors for the playable hero, Rook, as well as the game's seven companions. In a detailed blog post preceding its San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) panel, the studio finally disclosed the talent behind the core characters.
With what is described as the franchise's most comprehensive character creator, players can shape their character, Rook, with four different voice options to personalize the narrative experience. Rook emerges as the designated leader who must unify the Veilguard to confront the dangers threatening Thedas. Players will have the choice of two voices from US/North American actors and two from UK/EU actors.
The voices behind Rook are provided by Alex Jordan, known for his work in Cyberpunk 2077 and The Amazing World of Gumball, Bryony Corrigan from Baldur's Gate 3, Erika Ishii, who lends her voice to Valkyrie in Apex Legends and Ana Bray in Destiny 2, and Jeff Berg, who has contributed to Battlefield 1.
Further highlighting the cast, Gareth David-Lloyd returns as Solas, and Brian Bloom reprises his role as Varric. Alongside these names, BioWare unveiled the full list of cast members, featuring well-known faces in the gaming industry. Each companion in Dragon Age: The Veilguard promises unique personalities and backstories, delivering some of the most engaging individual storylines in the series' history, according to Ashley Barlow, BioWare's Creative Performance Director.
"The talent joining this installment is remarkable, turning BioWare's excellent writing into performances that will meet the fans' expectations for drama, fantasy, and romance," she remarked. BioWare is set to host its "Dragon Age - Meet The Heroic Companions of Thedas" panel at SDCC, where attendees on July 26 can interact with some of the actors and get insights into the dynamic conversation system that will shape relationships and connections in the game.
Though BioWare has yet to reveal the exact release date for The Veilguard, the company has stated that the game will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC in Fall 2024.
